                                                                                                   Art is indispensable to every field.  To the naked eyes, it seems that each field is completely independent, isolated, and has nothing to do with other fields. On the contrary, each field is related to other fields in a smaller or larger way.  Now tastes and choices of people have been refined because of the aesthetically designed sophisticated objects that surface in the market every day. Design, a subject of art, deals with the designing of varieties of objects that are required for different functions. Design involves purpose, functionality, aesthetics, economics, culture and socio-political aspects.  In daily life, we use scores of objects for different proposes and different utilities. These objects are indicative of culture, economy, and science. The evolution of material culture shows how tastes have been refined and sophisticated over time. Material culture in totality speaks how design has progressed over the years and reached its zenith. Designing has many branches, which have specialties. Costume designing, jewelry designing, furniture designing, set designing, automobile designing, industrial designing, game designing and so on – the list continues without an end.  Today, a number of electronic gadgets enter into market everyday and woo customers to possess them by their sheer seductive looks.  The design and aesthetic look of the objects are so appealing and attractive that one goes on buying endlessly that is where consumerism peeps in. Each company takes care in designing its products carefully and competently – the objects, which are functionally, ergonomically and aesthetically sound and perfect. Each company undertakes lot of research before designing gadgets. Art and technology combined together bring out innovative products, which are highly sophisticated, competent and have high aesthetic value.

Whether one knows science or not, one has learnt to use technology deftly. Even to the remotest villages, technology has reached and become a big success. People all over the world have accepted technology and have started enjoying the benefits it offers. Illiterate village people with their native intelligence have been using mobiles  and other gadgets conveniently these days. Technology has altered our life so much that life seems impossible without these facilities in the present situation. When one is cut off from these facilities, lost feeling creeps in immediately. Technology has not only given us connectivity but also security.

Due to the advancement of technology, many things are done conveniently, efficiently and that too within a short period. Earlier, it was difficult to get slides and do presentation.  Now, with the arrival of digital cameras, any number of photographs can be taken. If not required, the previous photographs can be deleted and a new set of photographs can be replaced. A small pen drive, the size of an eraser, holds hundreds of pictures and documents and with that power-presentation has become pretty easy.

One-step ahead, there is big data facilities available now. GB (gigabytes) TB (terabytes) are familiar to us as we are using pen drives and hard disks every day. A 500 GB file could contain material of the size of five floors of library. Ten 1-TB external hard drives could contain the largest library in the world. With a swift progress, we have shifted to petabytes( PB )and exabytes  (EB)which can hold information  of largest scale- may be the information of the world.
